“Hello, I want to see you soon”
California poppies are in the garden
When they appear at the back of the front yard,
look back – that child is still not here yet
“Hello, what’s new with you?”
Summer seems to have come to the garden
When it appears at the back of the front yard,
wait eagerly – saying to him, “ready or not!”
Seek a little
confusion from clouds blocking the sun
Don’t go chasing after
a sky that alternates gold and scarlet colors
A flower without fruit is, even in dying, loved forever – an innocent crime
Attract people by turning into a flower bud
So,
link up today and tomorrow
Pray without fail
for a wind in which shyness gives in to intoxication
Don’t come attached
to a self that alternates mixed cotton yarn
A fruit without flowers is, as it rots, forgotten forever – a harsh punishment
Cut it in half and eat it
So
take a look
at both today and tomorrow
A flower without fruit is, even as it dies, given the name of eternity
Who is this child wearing clothes that keep getting bigger?
A strangely sweet, vivid fruit
Ah
Sleep, oh you holder of sorrows

Translator's notes: [1] "Ready or not!" ("Mou ii
kai") is indeed meant to refer to a children's game of
tag. "Itsu itsu..." is also a line used in another children's
game (one where everyone is lined up in a circle around one person and
sings this song to them).
Song info: This song is found only on the analog version of the album.
Notes: The mentions of
children's games is one of the reasons I am pretty convinced this song
is referencing Ringo's son. The PV for this song is also very
interesting and contains many intricate symbols (she may also have been
pregnant during some of its filming). As with many of the KSK songs,
certain words reappear elsewhere in other songs (one example is
"konbou" ["mixed"], also in Ishiki. Also, both "tsumi" and "batsu" are found in the lyrics, which must be a reference to Tsumi to Batsu).
