Friday
The Thursday before I had driven home from college so I could go. That Friday, I waited for Bekah to get home from school, and then Shin K and Ryan drove over to pick us up. Drive was long as usual, but finally we get to the Austin Renaissance! New hotel wtf. I still miss the one from the past two years, sigh. I check in and we go and put our stuff in the room. Our room has one king-size bed, and when I ask if there are any rooms with two queens left, the lady says no, but that she'll send an air mattress up to our room. Score!
The room itself is on the side that has an indoor balcony overlooking the main floor of the hotel. VERY fun to watch people milling about; apparently that balcony is also good for sleeping too XD. Wander around downstairs, see people. All of this is kind of a blur, but at some point I went in Charlie's brother's car with Charlie to go pick up Elsa and her boyfriend Ogi/Josh from UT. Met Ogi, got Wendy's for me and Ryan, it was good. Eat it in my room and then go down to the party room, which I think of as Zack's even though it was actually Geno's, and drink some rum and Coke, which kinda sucked but whatever. Eryn and Bekah are there too, along with a bunch of other people.
Late in the night, we decide to play Spin the Bottle. Why? Who knows. But it was cool, cause I've never played before. It was me, Bekah, Eryn, Alex (Fucking) Chopp, Zack, Ruben, and Mike later. Some other people too, but thats all I can remember/knew. By the end of the game, everyone had kissed everyone else, pretty much XDD It was great fun.
Some time later we went back to our room and crashed. As usual.. the lights go out and people keep talking. Ryan stormed out as a result :/ Oh well; I can definitely understand, though. On the bed there was Elsa, Ogi, Riji, and Mike, then on the floor we had our two air mattresses, and one of them was totally the sex bed, with Bekah, Zack, and Ruben T__T;; And me on the other air mattress (Shin K was there too, but he left right around the time we all started falling asleep), with Vanessie and Eryn on the floor next to me. We couldn't stop talking and laughing about stuff ("That's so 2004") so it took awhile for us to fall asleep but finally we did. God, so uncomfortable sleeping on the floor. The air mattress quickly lost its air so it was like sleeping on the floor, plus some dumbass (Ogi, as I later found out!) turned the thermostat down to like, 60 so it was fucking freezing.
But it was funny cause they had been making fun of Ruben because his boyfriend is a furry, so they were calling him a furry too, and then Vanessie assigned us all animals XD She was a possum.. Eryn a sugar glider.. me a badger.. then she and Eryn started calling each other by their furry names XD They totally bonded, it was hilarious.
Saturday
Morning, everyone woke up eventually and got showered. Mostly a lazy day. Bekah and I wandered around downstairs and I got Maaya Sakamoto's 'Nikopachi.' Later I went back and got 'Dive.' $70 gone, but oh well, they're both good albums. If the dealer's room had had some Bonnie Pink or early Shiina Ringo I would have gotten that, but they totally didn't. 
The rest of the day was spent wandering around with Eryn, watching movies in the hotel room, etc. Cause it was a party con, the fun didnt really start until nighttime. Ah well! But yeah, a lot of it's a blur, but I know we ended up in Zack's room again and chilled there. "Drop It Like It's Hot" is never going to get out of my head as a result kthx. But, we met Jessica and Shiloh, and as it turns out Jessica is the chick Ash made out with at like, Afest 2002!! XD XD
Then, of course... we played Spin the Bottle again. It was a fun, crazy game, but I did have to kiss a few people I didn't want to (aka people who really should have just stayed out of the game.. oh well =_=). And Brian and Ruben ended up having to kiss each other a lot, and on one of the making-out turns, they just WENT AT IT and were going at it for like 5 minutes. We seriously had to pull them apart. It was hilarious. You know, a couple of years ago something like this would have killed me (cause I was all obsessed with yaoi) but now I just kind of.. take it in stride. You know, 'hey thats cool but nothing worth going crazy over.' Though I did feel a kind of glee when I thought about all the rabid yaoi fangirls on the main level.. bet you wish you were meee! Hahaaa >:D
Then when the game ended Brian and Ruben totally went into the bathroom to make out some more XDD But then Ruben got sick and we had to let him pass out in our room for awhile.. oh well.
Then Lance kicked a lot of people out, I think, and somehow everyone just ended up wandering around downstairs. Ryan and I sang some Morning Musume in the downstairs area, haha, awesome. And then Riji and I went to Hentaifest, what up!!! XD Hahaaaa it was so hilarious. Really you just have to laugh at it. But it really is.. uh, disturbing that despite all the 'witty' remarks made by the males in attendance about the goings-on onscreen, most of the guys still had their hands over their pants, or brought backpacks that they shielded themselves with. -____-;; When they started playing 'Lesbian Ward' Riji and I left because it was just.. so bad, plus it was freezing cold in the room.
I go up to our room expecting to find people there, but when I call, they are back in Zack's room partying it up! And Bekah and Eryn are HAMMERED. Ohhh maann. Or, you know, "prickly-peared." Haahaha. I drink some Kahlua and such but I still don't get more than buzzed. It was fun though. Unfortunately Lance kicks people out and they all decide it's a good idea to go to our room. Which was fun until like, half of them decide to crash there. Including this guy (Ezrah?) that we barely knew who just DECIDED he was crashing on the end of our bed. OKAY WTF, you did not even ask us if it was okay! We are already having a money dilemma with people not paying, plus you made it impossible for me to stretch my legs out!! T___T
But hee, Eryn had met this Native American (oh man so awesome) guy named James and haha they totally hit it off and it was cute. But yeah, sex bed again, with all sorts of talking and other annoyingness. And people fucking pissed me off because they laughed at me when I told them to shut up. Fucking hell, it's my goddamn room. This is exactly why I said I wouldn't get a room again! Fucking thankless job. Ugh.
Sunday
Sunday kinda sucked, except for when me and Bekah went to THUNDERCLOUD and got the BEST SUBS EVER OMG OMG. Usually I don't like sub places, but my turkey sub was fucking incredible. And I am so so so sad that they don't have Thundercloud places up here in Dallas! Aghhh so tastyyyy. But yeah, we didn't get out of there until 5 cause Shin K was sleeping, and then he had to take Elsa and Ogi back, and seriously guys, get a taxi or something next time, because UT was not right next to the hotel, despite both being in Austin, and it really inconvenienced people. Shin K said he didn't mind, but what about Charlie's brother? But eventually we made it back yay.
In conclusion: Great great con :3 I met LOTS of awesome people (Jessica!), and hung out with people I didn't really know before (Riji!), and finally got introduced to some people that everyone knew except me (Lance, Brian, Alex Chopp, etc). Plus I chilled with Eryn and Bekah which was great. Eryn hugged me goodbye and said she would miss me, aww, same here Eryn! XD And Vanessie gave me a birthday present (cause hers is the day after mine what up!), a $15 gift card to Einsteins bagels, what up :33 I will have to go there now, I do love bagels :3 Apparently there is more to the gift but it was in someone's car so oh well, whatevs. I gave her CDs that I had burned of all the Shiina Ringo albums and singles I have, which seems so cheap now, but oh well >.>;;
However the con was marred somewhat by ALL THE ANNOYING FANS OH MY GOD. Because the signs were back. And the B.O. was back. IT WAS ALLLLL BACK. And guys, the signs? I thought we learned our lesson at Akon. Signs suck. Seriously. Give it up already. We all hate them. But really, when did cons get overrun with irritating underage fans?? It's just really weird to see a group of 11-year-old girls being led by their mom to the con. Really, extremely weird. People's parents should not be there, and preteens? Need to leave. Yeah. So at many points during the con we would just lean out of our balcony and make fun of them. We also made a list of anime series that, yeah, no one is allowed to cosplay from anymore. Chobits, INU YASHA OH MY GOD, and Naruto to name a few. And when Eryn and I walked around on Saturday, thats all we did, is walk around making fun of people. Hee, very fun.
Also, at one point on Sunday, in the downstairs area (aka Sign Central) there was a group of people playing this stupid game that involved these 15-year-old hos getting down on the floor and essentially flashing their panties at everyone. I think there was some sort of contest that ended in them kissing each other, too. Ladies, you are surrounded by smelly, horny fanboys, NOT your precious bishounen. You don't want to be playing those kinds of games. And then later we were up on the main level couches talking about how dumb it was, and the girls themselves were sitting nearby and were all "Uh, are you talking about us?" as if that was supposed to shame us. BITCH PLEASE! We kind of looked at them but no one really seemed embarrassed that they had overheard. If they're going to do stupid shit like that, people are going to talk about it. God, I hate the general majority of people who come to these things.
The other thing is that there were some definite hotel-con clashes. Like on Saturday night, the hotel was also hosting a navy ball. So there were lots of guys in navy uniforms with their dates all dressed up in formal dresses.... with dorky cosplayers just a few yards away. I felt so bad for all the guys. But then, me and Eryn were on the balcony watching them, and we totally saw a navy dork. He was talking to some congoers, and we thought at first he was just asking them what they were doing, but then one of them handed him a sword he had, and the GUY STARTED POSING WITH IT!! They were taking pictures of it and he was all excited and everything!! We were cracking up, it was hilarious. Then his friends came over and he goes back to the ball, but then he sees a Chii cosplayer and just points at her and starts talking to her and her friends. So damn funny. But its true, just being in the military doesn't mean you've given up dork rights. Look at Luke! (And Zack, soon!) XD
The other con-hotel clash was the fact that we were all treated horribly by con security. I didn't really notice it happening to me, because I didn't realize that's what it was, but yeah, at one point I was just walking along the hallway on my floor and was told to go downstairs or back to my room. I found out later they were saying that to a lot of people; to basically anyone who was out of their room. For no reason at all! And that they said to some other people "Go to your room, or get back down there with your own kind." With your own kind. And I mean yeah, I'm annoyed and embarrassed by the behavior of the vast majority of the people who attend these things, but there's no need to treat us like we're in jail! We're paying to be here. We're giving you business. The least you could do is not have security guards constantly monitoring the area as if we're in elementary school! Goddamn. Why did we need a new hotel again? -_-
