Originally, going to this con hadn't even occurred to us, seeing as how the other two cons we go to are in Dallas, where we live, and Ushicon was going to be in Austin, which is quite a drive from here. But, as is usually the case, Ashley convinced us all to go. She and Zack (if you'll remember, the Zidane guy from A-Kon) had since met on the A-Kon forums, begun talking online and then on the phone, and had just become boyfriend and girlfriend. So because he lived in Austin, she really wanted us all to go to Ushicon with her to meet Zack. At first we didn't think we could go--we'd have to find parents who would be willing to take us all the way down there AND chaperone (because no one's mom and dad would let them stay in Austin by themselves). But miraculously, Allison's parents, who used to live in Austin, said they would take her and a few people!! (Ashley had her own ride.) The original people that were supposed to go down with Allison, her parents, and her sister (who were going to sightsee, etc, while there) were me, Eryn, and Amy, but at the time the flu was going around and everyone was getting sick. I had just gotten over it, but Amy still hadn't--so she was too sick to go with us. Waii, poor Amy!
Cosplay-wise, I didn't really do anything new. Ushicon was in the middle of the year, so it's not like I had a lot of time to bug my mom to make a costume or even try to do a simple one myself. So I just wore my Sakura costume from Animefest, which I'd only worn for one day anyway. I did bring the red hair beads, but I didn't like the way they looked so I just wore a red headband instead. Also, I got Allison's dad to tie the tie so I got to wear that this time.
Friday
We left right after school on Friday (I remember waiting anxiously all day at school for the friggin day to end). As soon as the bell rang, we all got into Allison's parents' van and started driving to Austin. It was me, Allison, Eryn (at the time the Girls Without Boyfriends Club, thank you very much), Allison's sister Amy (not to be confused with our friend Amy who couldn't make it ^^), and Allison's parents of course. The trip down, a few hours, actually didn't seem that long--we talked, read books, listened to music, etc. Finally we got to the hotel (the Sheraton Four Points in Austin).. we were so excited!! We couldn't wait to get inside. As soon as we got checked in, we put our stuff in our room, registered (luckily it was still pretty early so there was virtually no line), put our costumes on (me as Sakura, Allison as Belldandy from Ah My Goddess, and Eryn as "Eri from Nightworld" [a character she made up right then using clothes of her own that she had brought with her]) and went to look around. Right away like 10 people took our picture, it was awsome.
Then we wandered around seeing what the con had.. there was one big room that divided into two smaller panel rooms, a few anime viewing rooms, a game room, an unofficial Dance Dance Revolution room (someone had pushed the beds in their hotel room to the side, hooked up their game system to the TV, duct-taped game mats to the floor, and let whoever wanted to play. that was way cool!), and a con suite (a hotel suite that had a lot of food and anime-ish stuff on TV where people could just hang out). 
Also a dealer's room and art room of course, which were closed at that point. We didn't have anything else to do, so we went to the opening ceremonies thing when it started, which was pretty boring. We were looking around for Zack, but didn't find him. We also saw that Candice girl who was Xellos at Animefest and gave me a rose, only this time she was Merle (and about three other people, she had a ton of costumes). We also saw this other Sakura (also in the winter Tomoeda uniform) and a Yukito! The Yukito person (it was a girl) was so cool.. she had a bunch of candy things and threw me one--just like Yukito does to Sakura! Except Sakura always catches the candies, and I kind of missed mine (hey, I was carrying my wand). Then afterwards in the hallway more people took our picture. One was this guy named Jody with his friend Mike that we started talking to (because Jody called us three attractive girls.. flattery WORKS!) and then hung out with for the rest of the night (and the next two days..).
While we were still in the hallway, we saw this guy in an orange shirt and brown hair that was blond at the ends go by. Having seen a dozen pictures of Zack that Ashley had sent me with the (insane) rapture of a girl in love, he looked kind of familiar to me.. I yelled "ZACK!!" and the guy turned around and said "I heard someone call my name!" and started walking toward us. It was Zack!! Dude, that was so freaky. He's prettier in real life *hehehe!* He hugged us, shook our hands twice (he was.. a little drunk) and we told him we were Ashley's friends. We talked for a little bit, he told us Ashley and Stephanie were coming after all (we'd been wondering where they were), and then we told him to get Kyle (Zack's best friend.. we'd heard about him from Ashley too). So Kyle showed up and gave us all hugs too.. he was way more than a little drunk. He threw up on the hotel lobby couch later, actually. o_o
Anyway, then we left Zack and drunken Kyle and walked around the hotel with Jody and Mike. We went to the DDR room and I played against Jody and.. totally kicked his butt (well, I did. Jody kind of sucked at DDR. Though it was hard to jump in the Sakura skirt ^^). Then Mike had to leave, but we exchanged emails. Then while we were in lobby, we saw this guy in a blue spandex body suit and tiger ears walk by us and were all like "Oookaayy.." and right around that time we passed by these two girls and all of us were like "Did you see--?" and then we all started laughing and talking. Their names were Bridgette and Christina and they liked Slayers. Then us, the girls, and Jody went to the karaoke room, which took awhile to get actual music going, so Eryn and Allison broke the karaoke ice by singing their a cappella version of "I Will Survive". Then me and Christina sang "Give a Reason" (the short TV version cause she didn't know all of it), and then me, Eryn, and Allison did a stupid N*Sync parody and gave our wonderful rendition of "Bye Bye Bye". We were booed off the stage. XD This was all without any music, by the way.
Then Eryn and Allison were going to sing an Ace of Base song when this girl in the audience told us to give someone else a chance to sing. So we left (it was kinda boring with all the set-up and stuff) and went to one of the viewing rooms, where they were showing "Anime Hell". It was so freaking funny!! All these parodies of Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z and all these weirdo commercials with Chinese people dancing in the streets (now I know that it was really a clip from Shaolin Soccer ^^).. all sorts of crazy stuff. It was great. Then Jody came and got us to go back to the karaoke room, where we stayed for a little bit, but left eventually in favor of a lot of general hanging out and wandering around. We waited around for Ashley for awhile since Zack had said she was coming Friday night, but it was getting late and we had to go back to the room (good thing too, cause she didn't come until Saturday morning). In our room we talked about how completely awsome this con was compared to A-Kon. The problem with A-Kon was that we had a big group.. that's why all we did there was the dealer's room and boring stuff in our hotel room. With a small group (say, three people) we met all these cool people and hung out with them, and got to do a lot of different con stuff.
Saturday
We got up, put on our costumes (the same as Friday's for everyone), found Jody (well, he actually found us ¬_¬) and ate breakfast and stuff. As we were walking to breakfast, Eryn found this CD labeled "Anime Mix" in one of the ashtrays lining the walls. (We listened to it, it's funnyy.. along with all these Slayers songs, it's got "Wild Wild West", the bum-bum song by Tom Green, and this funny funny song about suicide! It's totally crazy! When we got home I posted a thread on the Ushicon forums asking if it belonged to anyone, but no one ever replied. So it's mine now! XD) Anyway, then we walked around, kinda looked for Ashley, and waited for the dealer's room to open (there was a line o_o).. 
when it finally did, it got crowded FAST, especially because the room was kind of small anyway. I bought this cute little Syaoran doll (in his Chinese fighting outfit! he's got his hat, his sword, his derivator thingy, his little Chinese paper thingies to summon the elements with--everything a good male Cardcaptor needs!), which I (and sometimes jody ¬__¬) carried around the rest of the day. CCS second movie digest book
The Sakura Wand is so awsome!! It comes with a little key necklace version of it, a Clow Card/Sakura Card (one on each side), and this little spinner thingy. You put the card in the spinner, Clow Card facing the front, point the wand at it and push the button. The star on the wand spins, it plays music and lights up, and the card spins around until the Sakura Card side is facing the front, so it's like you converted it just like Sakura! Then after about 10 seconds it turns around again to be a Clow Card so you can do it again. It's soooo cooool!! It was freaking expensive but so worth it. I love it ^__^ The CCS second movie digest book is cool too. It's got a story synopsis and cool interviews with people like the director, CLAMP, all the seiyuu, and CHAKA (who sings the ending song)--but it's all in Japanese of course! So I can't read any of it!! ;__;
Anyway.. more people took pictures of us.. and every time we found another Sakura or someone else from CCS (there was a Nakuru, a Meiling, the Yukito and Sakura mentioned above, and two pink kitty Thunder Card episode Sakuras), Allison and Eryn would make me go take a picture with them. Like this really cute little girl Sakura.. aww she was so cute. Oh, that reminds me, at one point when we were walking down the hallway we passed this little girl, who looked up at Allison and went "Oh! You're so beautiful!" and then looked at me and said "And you're Sakura!" and looked at Eryn and said "And you're a dragon!" Ahahaha.. it was really funny.. she was so cute too! It was adorable!!
We also came across this hot guy dressed up as Vash who was renting himself out, a dollar for ten minutes (he even had a leash!). Eryn thought he was hot, and ended up renting him! that was funny! Anyway, then we looked around for Ashley. Even Zack, who was helping us look for her along with Kyle, didn't know where she was.. we finally went up to the front desk and asked if they could find a room under her aunt's name, then her mom's, then her dad's. The room ended up being in her dad's name, and although they couldn't give us the room number, they could connect us over the hotel phone. So we did that, and we got ahold of her, but she was being a bitch and wouldn't give it to us and eventually hung up on us (u_u). So we went to the yaoi panel (Yaoi-O-Rama) instead, which was awsome!! We dragged Jody in (literally) and all the girls in there cheered cause it was a guy. There were several guys there, actually--the room was pretty much full! This girl in front of us had a Harry Potter backpack and I asked her if she liked Harry Potter yaoi.. only I said it kind of loud and everyone in the room laughed.. ehehehe. Anyway, the yaoi panel was basically this lady talking about yaoi (she talked about the 'yamanashi, ochinashi, iminashi' and 'yamete, watashi oshiri ga ittai' things, which we already knew XD). Then she would name certain pairings and people would cheer, etc etc. It was so awsome! At one point she pulled out a doujinshi, opened it up to a page of two guys making out and went "Now, I can't show you anything that will get me in trouble, but you can definitely tell from this picture that they're gettin' it on" and everyone cheered and laughed. Woo, it was fun! Then we found Zack again, got the hotel to connect us to Ashley's room again, gave the phone to him, and he got the room number from her right away. ~__~ So we followed Zack and Kyle to Ashley and Stephanie's room, and went in with them. That was actually the first time Ashley and Zack had met in person.. which I didn't know at the time because they were acting all shy and hadn't even said anything to each other, so I thought that they had already met or something.

So being that it was pretty boring in there with all the not-talking, the Girls Without Boyfriends Club left for more interesting things. Allison signed up for cosplay, and then we went and got in line for it (and Allison went to wait to go on stage and stuff). Bridgette and Christina joined us, as well as Jody, and we had fun playing with my Syaoran doll and the Clow Wand (everyone loves the wand). We were talking about how if Syaoran wasn't really gay, then he was just possessed by the Gay Card, which was funny XD. And there were these guys in line behind us, this blond dude and this guy with glasses and curly brown hair, and the blond dude had a video camera that he USED to LOOK UP MY SKIRT!! I guess he zoomed in on my butt while I was sitting weird or something and Eryn had to tell me to change sitting positions ~_~. We started calling him pervert guy/hentai man after that.. *giggles* Anyway, then we went into cosplay and sat down. Only we had Allison's video camera, and had to go over and tape it from the side of the room, so me, Eryn, and Stephanie (who had found us and started hanging out with us because she didn't want to be around Zack and Ashley and Kyle [who had asked her if she wanted to suck his.. tongue. jerk XP]) left our stuff with Bridgette, Christina, and 
Jody (big mistake. Jody started messing around with all my stuff. I had to have Bridgette pass it to me from across the room to keep it away from him ~_~) and went over to videotape the cosplay. Some skits were really funny, but I don't remember any specifics, sorry. It's all on tape though.. Also, when Allison walked across the stage (she was just a walk-on) she didn't stop in the middle to smile for pictures, so people were yelling at her to stop, only she thought they were yelling at her to get off the stage! Aww! After the cosplay stuff was over, they cleared everyone out to get the room ready for the dance.
While they were setting up, we went to the lobby and hung out with Luke (the blond dude) and Daniel (the curly-haired guy), the guys with the video camera, and their friends. One was the girl with the Harry Potter backpack from the yaoi panel, and I was talking to her about Harry Potter yaoi. Another was this girl we'd seen while waiting for the dealer's room to open, who started, for SOME REASON, to talk about how small her boyfriend's.. ahem.. thing was. We were all laughing and like "Whaaaaat!" and Luke taped her saying it again. Then she said something about cutting off Jody's balls and he went and sat in a corner with his legs in front of him. That was funny.. but so weird. Then Luke and his friends (we got to tease him and Daniel about "not being gay" again. "We're not gay!", ahahaha) asked us if we wanted to go to Denny's with them, but we couldn't leave the hotel, etc etc. So they left and we started walking back with Pervert Girl (her name's actually Jackie, but she's Pervert Girl to us), the one who was talking about her boyfriend. So me and Allison were talking about this funny day at school where we were laughing at lunch about semen mixing or whatever (I don't know, we're weird) and Pervert Girl heard us say that and went "Semen blender?" which was just really funny for some reason. We all cracked up and kept saying it cause it was just so funny. We also found out that her, ah, "pendulum swings both ways" (she said it!), if you know what I mean. She swings from BOTH vines, so to speak (hehehe). At the con dance she was like getting it on with this other girl, and that was creepy.
After awhile it was finally ready and the dance began!! This dance was awsome, NOTHING like the crappy dance A-Kon had. It was all dark and lit by strobe lights and people had glowsticks and everything so it was like a rave. Zack stood up and was like "You all want to see a yaoi fest?" and everyone cheered and he said he was going to do yaoi later (yeay!!). So real fast, Eryn, Steph, and I ran back to our room to change clothes and stuff (I was tired of my costume and wanted to wear normal clothes). Only we weren't fast enough and we MISSED THE YAOI!! Allison told us that Zack and these guys were like getting it on on the floor!! I was so very sad, so I begged Zack to do it again. The second time I asked him he was like "Just wait, you're going to get all the yaoi you need." ^_^ So anyway, we danced to the cool cool music (it wasn't sucky music like at A-Kon) and stuff. Finally, Zack did the yaoi again. And it was awsome.. him and Kyle and Kerry getting it on on the floor, all rubbing and touching.. oh my!! ^___^ (hehehe, who's a scary scary yaoi fan? XD) Afterward Zack was like "Did you get your yaoi?" and I said "Yes I did!! ^_^" (Although I missed a lot of other yaoi, according to Ashley. ;__;)
Anyway.. more random stuff happened.. Ashley and Zack made out and stuff (u_u).. and then Jody asked Allison out!! She told us later that he took her aside and told her that "the best thing about this con.. was you" and then asked her out! XDD She told him that she didn't want to have a long distance relationship.. but she really just didn't like him! XD (We'd been trying to ditch him all day, anyway, cause he really annoyed Eryn and Allison. I didn't really care either way ^^). Oh man, it was funny.. we quoted his little line for the rest of the night. Even after Ushicon we couldn't escape him.. he wrote Allison a dozen emails and bugged her so much on AIM that she blocked him! XD
Let's see, what else.. Stephanie avoided Kyle.. we ditched Jody again.. did stuff.. went to the DDR room and I did one song (God of Romance on Trick ^_^) before they shut it down for the night.. we went back to the room only to sneak out again to go to the con suite, where a bunch of people were watching this really funny thing.. we wanted to stay and watch all of it but we were worried about getting caught. So we went back and went to sleep, blah blah blah.
Sunday
We got up, packed everything up, put on normal clothes (for once) and went down to spend our last two hours down at the con. We went to the dealer's room (Jody found us again.. he'd actually changed his clothes today), and Eryn was really nice and lent me money so I could buy this cute little CCS pencil board that had Syaoran and Meiling on it. I wasn't going to get it, but Syaoran looked so cute that I couldn't resist. ^.^ Also, while we were in the dealer's room we saw Bridgette and Christina and hugged them goodbye. Then we sat in the lobby with AshleyandZack (who were attached, hehehe) and talked and stuff. Jody wanted Allison's number, and we were joking (behind his back of course) about giving him the Dalworth Carpet Cleaning number, but we didn't. We just wrote all our email addresses down on a piece of paper and gave it to him. Then we hugged him and Mike (who had come back) goodbye and went back to our room to put everything in the van and drive back. We said a tearful goodbye to Ushicon and drove back to Dallas.
Ahh.. just writing about this has made me remember all the cool stuff that happened. Ushicon 1 has been my favorite con so far, and it may just remain that way unless it is outdone in the future. We met new people, hung out with them, had a LOT of fun, got some yaoi (XD), had our pictures taken by 35-40 people (yeay!), and just generally had a really great time. I miss it so much.. One time, I was going to San Antonio for a vacation with my family, and we passed through Austin, and I saw the hotel (because it's right off the highway) and just felt so nostalgic.. we had so much fun! Anyway.. that's all. ^_^
Wait.. one more thing. Bow chicka bow chicka bow chicka BOW WOW!!
